We were happy to cooperate with the Pavol Demitra Primary School, St. Dominic Savio Primary School and St. Dominic Savio Kindergarten, where we organised an environmental competition for children called “My Friend from Waste”.
The aim of the competition was to encourage children to think about the reuse of waste and to foster their creativity. The challenge was to create different characters, animals or other works of art out of waste – for example, plastic bottles, paper, textiles or metal packaging.
The children’s imagination surpassed all expectations. Dozens of imaginative works were created, showing that even seemingly unnecessary materials can be given a new life. All the children who took part in the competition were rewarded for their efforts, with the authors of the three best works receiving prizes.
During our visit to the schools, we also prepared a short presentation on the importance of waste sorting, accompanied by a fun interactive game in which the children tried how to properly sort different types of waste into coloured containers. The children were very active, clever and curious – and showed that sorting can be playfully taught from an early age.
As a thank you for their active cooperation, we gave each of the participating schools a set of four colourful bins for sorted waste collection. We hope that they will help children learn how to sort properly and behave responsibly towards the environment.
We have enthusiastically displayed some of the artworks we created in our offices, where they now decorate the space and remind us that change starts with the youngest.
Thank you to all the students, teachers and parents for their efforts, creativity and involvement. We look forward to further cooperation and new inspiring projects that will combine environmental education with fun.
